An Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on August 13, 2019, from 8:25 am -11:25 am. Upon arrival to the facility, there were 18 children present with four staff members. The licensing inspector reviewed supervision, staff qualifications and trainings, nutrition, required posting, the physical plant and administration. The center is not administering medication at this time. The children were freely playing, bathroom breaks, watching a movie, circle time and practicing alphabet and numbers. Exit interview conducted with the Program Director.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-510-B Description: Based on record review, the licensee did not ensure that for each group of children, the vendor shall maintain a written hard copy record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs. Evidence : At 8:40am in the school age room , there were 5 of 11 school age students signed in. Six children were not check in on the attendance record while arrival occurred. Plan of Correction: Each classroom have a sign in sheet.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-650-E Description: Based on staff interview, the vendor did not ensure there was a written policy and procedures that that describes how the vendor will ensure that each group of children receives care by consistent staff or team of staff members. Evidence: Staff #1 was not able to provide a written policy and procedures to ensure each group of children receives care by consistent staff or team of staff members. Plan of Correction: The director will create a written policy and procedures to ensure each group of children receives care by consistent staff or team of staff members.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-770-B-5 Description: Based on staff interview, the vendor did not ensure procedure was created for the continuity of operations to ensure that essential functions are maintained during emergency. Evidence: Staff #1 was not able to provide a written policy and procedures to ensure continuity of operations during emergency. Plan of Correction: The director will update emergency plan.
