An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today, August 22, 2019 to determine the center's compliance with child day center licensing standards. The inspection was initiated at 10:30 am and concluded at 1:30 pm. Upon the inspector's arrival children were observed in a variety of activities. The two's and toddlers were outside having splash day with the water tables and sprinkler. Upon returning to the classrooms, children were dressed and listened to stories. Pre-school children were observed playing outside on the playground equipment. The pre-k class participated in a variety of centers including examining x-rays at the light table, drawing on the dry erase boards, matching beginning letters to pictures cards and looking at books about baby animals. Later children were observed having lunch. Today's lunch consisted of turkey & cheese sandwich, garden salad, fruit salad and milk. Later the school age children prepared for a field trip to the pool. Permission slips were reviewed and a note posted at the door with field trip information. Nap time was also observed. The center had the required documentation posted. The first aid kit and non-medical emergency supplies for the building and the bus were inspected and found complete. The inspector interacted with staff and children in care. Eight staff records were reviewed along with six children's records. Staff on site have current CPR, First aid, daily health observation and MAT training. Per the director, currently there are no medications being administered. The most recent evacuation drill was documented on 08/13/2019. The two required shelter-in-place drills for 2019 were completed on 02/25/2019 and 07/15/2019.
