An announced initial inspection was completed on September 4, 2019 from approximately 9:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Two staff and one corporate officer's records, the emergency preparedness plan, policies and procedures, first aid and CPR, daily health observation certifications and required postings were reviewed. The physical space, programs, nutrition, and the first aid and emergency supplies were inspected. The center will not provide transportation or administer medication. The Owner/Director was available for interview, the inspection, and was present at the exit interview at which time inspection findings were reviewed and an Acknowledgement of Inspection form was signed and left. See the violation notice on the Department's public web site for violations of the Standards.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-B Description: Based on a review of policies and procedures and interview, the licensee failed to provide staff procedures for identifying where attending children are at all times by the end of their first day of supervising children.
Evidence: 1. A review of the polices and procedures provided to staff lacked a procedure for identifying where attending children are at all times. 2. Administrator #1 reported that staff are trained on how to use the center's automated system for tracking children, but acknowledged that there is no written procedure.
Plan of Correction: The Director/Owner will create a written procedure for identifying where attending children are at all times.
