An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today.
Children were playing outdoors, writing, singing and reading stories.
Medications, previous violations, five staff records, and eight children's records were reviewed.
There were 43 children in care with eight teaching staff, two administrative staff members, and one kitchen staff person.
The large center playground was not evaluated for compliance as you reported that two dead trees must be removed before the playground can be used.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B Description: Based on a tour of the outdoor play area, the facility failed to ensure that there is six inches of resilient surface material under climbing equipment.
Evidence:
1. There is two inches of mulch under the see-saw on the large playground facing the interstate.Plan of Correction: The director will ensure that the mulch is raked and evenly distributed to meet the six inch requirements.
