A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 10/08/2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:30am-1:30pm. There were 39 children (infants-4yrs.) directly supervised by 7 staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed playing outdoors, being bottle fed, napping and eating lunch. Today's lunch consisted of meatballs with marinara sauce, whole grain Penne pasta, Parmesan cheese, broccoli, apple and milk. Hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an adequate supply of materials for the children. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the Violation Notice.
A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-540-A Description: Based on record review, the center did not obtain documentation from each staff member of a tuberculosis (TB) screening/test prior to coming into contact with children.
Evidence:
Staff#4's record does not contain TB test/screening documentation. The staff member's first day of employment was documented as 8/14/2019.Plan of Correction: The staff member will pick up the results by Friday 10/11/2019.
