Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 10/07/2019 from 4:20pm to 6:15pm. The children were observed playing games, playing outside and eating snack. Snack consisted of cucumbers, ranch dip and snack mix. The snack menu was posted. Interviews were held with staff throughout the inspection, and the inspector interacted with children in each classroom when appropriate. The cafeteria and playground were inspected today.
Five children?s records were reviewed during this inspection. Employee records are kept off site. Medication is being administered and was reviewed. The center?s injury prevention plan was updated 01/1/2019.

The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected.

Today, the following child to staff ratio was observed:
School Age ? 41:3

The violations from the previous inspections were checked for corrections. There were no repeat violations found during today?s inspection.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-A
Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that children's hands were washed with soap and running water or disposable wipes after eating meals or snacks.
Evidence:
The inspector observed several children eat snack and move on to the next activity without washing their hands.

Plan of Correction: Staff will be advised to direct kids to wash hands after snack is served.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-K
Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that tables were sanitized after each use for feeding.
Evidence:
The center's tables were not sanitized after the children ate snack. The inspector observed several children eat snack, then play games and complete homework on the same tables without being sanitized.

Plan of Correction: Sanitizing will take place after snack is served. I will talk with staff regarding sanitizing procedures.
