63.2 Facilities & Programs.
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 10:00am-11:10am. Today there was one classroom open with 10 students directly supervised by two caregivers. The physical plant, 4 staff and co op parent records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in circle time learning a pumpkin song, transitioning to go outdoors, and playing outside. Hand washing procedures were also observed. Caregivers were observed helping children put on jackets, redirecting behavior, and helping children to wash hands. There was a variety of age appropriate of materials for the children in care. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based observation, some areas outside the center were not maintained in a safe condition.
Peeling and chipping paint was observed on the top railing of the outdoor fence.
Plan of Correction: We will sand down and repaint the beam. We will also look into calling a fencing company to ensure no further action is needed.
