Discussion was held on the topics of medication documentation and documentation for children?s records.

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from approximately 1:30pm through 3:50pm. At the time of entrance, 32 children were in care with 4 staff members present. Children were observed during nap time, handwashing procedures, toileting procedures, snack, dancing and singing, and engaged in small group activities. The rooms were clean, organized and contained a varied supply of developmentally appropriate materials. Staff was observed while supervising nap, snack and learning activities. They were also observed giving feedback and praise to children when they helped and during learning activities. A selection of staff and children records, the physical space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, attendance records and medications were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-320-B Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that sinks are supplied with running warm water that does not exceed 120 degrees.
Evidence:
1) The water in the sink located inside the orange classroom had a temperature of 123.1 degrees.
2) The water in the sink located inside the green classroom had a temperature of 121.9 degrees.
3) The water in the bathroom sink located near the orange classroom had temperature of 123.8 degrees.
