Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 3:30 pm-4:50 pm. There were 52 children directly supervised by 4 staff. The physical plant, 4 staff training records, 5 children?s records,4 medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed arriving for afternoon care, eating a snack of cinnamon crackers and juice, crafting and playing outdoors. The children were offered choices for various activities and access to a variety of materials and toys to use.The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-N
Description: Based on record review, medication was not picked up within 14 days of the expiration date of the medication authorization.
Evidence:
The medication authorization form on file for Child 4's inhaler was valid only for the school year 2018-2019. The inhaler was present in the center on the date of inspection.

Plan of Correction: We will remind the parents that a new authorization form is required.
