Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 9:00 am-12:00pm. At the time of entrance, 42 children were in care with 5 staff members present. Children were observed playing on computers and ipads, playing in homeliving, dressing up, playing the "Let's go fishing" game, listening to music and dancing. Infants were observed sleeping, playing and being fed a bottle. The site was clean, organized and decorated with Fall decorations on the walls. Interactions between the children and staff were positive. A selection of staff and children records, the physical space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, attendance records and medications were reviewed. . Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B
Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances such as cleaning producs were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
1. In the Prep classroom, 3 cleaning products were inside a cabinet with a lock. The key was in the lock of the cabinet.
2. In the Junior Kindergarten classroom, 1 cleaning product was inside the cabinet with a lock. The key was in the lock of the cabinet.

Plan of Correction: Cleaner was in a locked cabinet out of reach of children.. A safe locking method was in locked position, key was removed during licensing visit. Teachers have been retrained on removing key from lock.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-570-E
Description: Based on observation, prepared infant formula was not dated in the refrigerator.
Evidence:
1. Two infant bottles were labeled with the child's name, but did not have the date on the bottle.

Plan of Correction: The date was written on the bottles during the visit. Teachers have been retrained to inspect bottles upon drop off and the parents have been reminded to label all bottles correctly.
