Technical Assistance:
Written procures for staff regarding the storage and administration of medication and procedures to follow if a child becomes ill while in care were discussed.

Also discussed was the required documentation of an infant's brand of formula and feeding schedule.

A diaper genie may not be used for soiled diapers as it is hand operated.

Comments:
An announced initial inspection was conducted today. The inspector arrived at 9:50 AM and departed at 12:20 PM. No children were in care. The physical plant was inspected and measurements of the classrooms were taken. Measurements and the certificate of occupancy allow for the requested capacity of 66 children.
Results of fingerprinting must be provided prior to processing the initial application for licensure.

An exit meeting was conducted with the owner/program director prior to closure of the inspection.

Description: Based upon review of the written policies for parents, the facility has not ensured that written parent policies include a description of established lines of authority for staff and the custodial parent's right to be admitted to the center as required by 63.2-1813 of the Code of Virginia.
Evidence:

2. The program director verified that the above written information was not in writing for parents.

The program director stated that they have not purchased a one-day's emergency supply of disposable bottles, nipples and commercial formulas appropriate for the children in care.
