Comments:
An unannounced non-mandated inspection was completed on 10/29/2019 from 9:25 A.M.-12:30 P.M. At the time of the inspection 27 children were present and in the care of two staff and two administrators. Five children's records, five staff records, one medication and required paperwork, emergency plan, parent handbook, first aid kits, emergency supplies, outdoor play area, and required posted information were reviewed. The two classrooms were equipped with a variety of programmatic specific learning and work materials. Child were observed participating in the following activities: music therapy during circle time, handwashing, a special Fall snack, letter recognition activity, creating patterns,coloring, and departure. The exceptions to compliance are noted on the violation notice.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-G
Description: Based on observation and staff interview, the program failed to ensure the prescription label was obtained for one child's medication.
Evidence:
1. Observation of child 1M's medication, disclosed that the prescription label was not obtained by the program (identifying the medication was prescribed for child 1M).
2. Staff #1 confirmed that the medication prescription label had not been obtained.

Plan of Correction: The child's parent was immediately contacted and requested that a prescription label be obtained for the medication.
