Technical Assistance:
Licensing inspector commended the staff on their ability to manage the classroom.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from approximately 12:30pm-2pm. There were 15 children in the direct care and supervision of 2 staff. A sample of 5 children?s records and 2 staff records were reviewed. The children were observed washing hands, during bathroom procedures and napping.One new staff member have been hired since the last inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-A
Description: Based on observation, the center did not provide the licensing representative an annual fire inspection report.

Evidence:
The fire inspection present was completed 09/01/2018.

Plan of Correction: The main copy is in the main office.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B
Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances were not kept in a locked place.

Evidence:
Cleaning materials were located in an unlocked cabinet above the sink.

Plan of Correction: We will lock the cabinet

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-E
Description: Based on record review and interview, the center did not maintain a record of the dates of the practiced drills for one year.

Evidence:
1. The center did not have record of the shelter-in-place drills completed during the last school year.
2. Staff A stated the records may be at the main office.

Plan of Correction: Records are in the main office.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3
Description: Based on record review, staff that have lived outside of Virginia within the last five years have not completed an out of state central registry search in the prior state of residency.

Evidence:
1. Staff A has lived outside of Virginia within the last 5 years and a CPS search has not been completed in the prior place of residency.
