The following areas of the standard were in review: Operational Responsibilities, Supervision of Children, and Forbidden Actions. The center was observed to be in compliance during today's unannounced focused monitoring inspection. Discussion was also held on the topic of the status of out-of-state CPS checks from the State of Maryland for Staff #3. Staff are continuing to inquire on progress of this request.

The following inspection took place between the hours of 11:30 am through 1 pm. Today, I met with the staff of Northeast Stars Montessori located in old town Alexandria, Virginia. At the start of this unannounced focused monitoring inspection there were a total of 27 preschool children (mixed age group of 2 to 5 year olds) with 5 staff; good ratio for this one group. Today's inspection was conducted as part of an Enforcement Watch due to the center's current probationary period of one year. A copy of the "Special Order: dated: November 6, 2018 and a copy of a "Report of Informal Conference" dated: October 22, 2018 were both observed posted (as stipulated in the Special Order) in a prominent place next to the public entrance of the premises of Northeast Stars Montessori. Today's inspection shall conclude this probationary period with these notices being able to come down as of tomorrow, November 6, 2019. The children were engaged in the following: a field trip to the local playground, bathroom breaks, hand washing, lunch time, and other organized activities.
