- Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance today included record keeping and resilient surfacing.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:15 am - 12"45 pm. There were 35 children present in three classrooms with 9 staff. I observed children busy with self-chosen Montessori activities including coloring countries in Africa, using manipulative materials to sort and match patterns. I also observed children playing outdoors. The center is spacious and records were well-organized and complete. If you have any questions, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation today, there were some areas of the playground not found to be in safe condition today.
Some of the tree stumps in the play area had sharp edges.
Plan of Correction: We will take out the stumps this weekend.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B Description: Based on observation today, there was an inadequate amount of resilient surfacing in the fall zone of the slide.
The area of the bottom of the slide had bare spots where resilient surfacing no longer met the licensing standard for surfacing.
Plan of Correction: We will get some more mulch delivered.
