A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on November 1, 2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The inspection was initiated at 1:10 pm and concluded at 4:00 pm. Upon the inspector's arrival most children were napping. Two children were sitting at the table playing with a tablet and having a snack. After nap time, children had bathroom breaks and washed their hands before sitting down to snack. Children also were observed during center time where they played with the doll house, kitchen set and cars. A small group of children painted pictures and later children danced to a music video on the smart board. All areas of the center were inspected. The center has age appropriate materials and supplies. The first aid kit and non-medical emergency supplies were inspected and found complete. The center has a parent board with the required documentation posted. The Inspector interacted with staff and children in care.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
Five children's records were reviewed along with three staff records.
Per the director, medication is currently not being administered.
