Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, 12/6/19. Upon arrival to the center the children in both classrooms were busy playing in the various centers. Each child was also doing special projects for the season. Each classroom went outside for some fresh air and running. The playground has a new fence.
There are 34 children in care with four teaching staff, family service advocate and cook present.

Inspection began: 10:30 am ended 12:05 pm.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation of the facility and playground the center failed to ensure that areas outside are maintained in a safe condition.
Evidence:
1. The playground equipment has a rubber coating on the climbing areas. This coating is cracked and peeling and could be a choking hazard or a pinch point.

Plan of Correction: The center director will contact the maintenance department and this corrected.
