Discussed the need to conduct new background checks for any staff that has observed a leave of absence for a period of longer than twelve months.
- Comments:
-
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:15am-11:45am. There were 38 children directly supervised by 7 staff and co-op volunteer parents. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records, 4 medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in center play including playing and decorating a cardboard house, blocks, dramatic play, and sensory play. Classroom were also observed having morning meetings, meeting in small groups to practice writing, participating in a movement class, and playing outdoors. Staff were observed asking open ended questions to children, modeling behavior, and facilitating smooth transitions between activities. Hand washing procedures were also observed. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. The center was clean and organized. No violations were cited during today's inspection.
