Technical Assistance:
Discussion was held on the topics of current enrollment, current staffing, and the use of "white noise" machines brought from home to assist infants during sleep times. While there are not current standards prohibiting their use, any and all equipment used around infants should be secure, and in good working order. Please regulate sound levels to a safe volume and use as manufacturerly directed.

Comments:
The following inspection took place between the hours of 7 am through 9 pm. Today, I met with the Staff of Your Child's Place located in Vienna, Virginia. At the start of this unannounced monitoring inspection there were a total of 31 children observed with 8 staff; good ratios in all 4 groups (between the 2 buildings). A total of 5 children?s files and 5 staff files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: infant sleeping, morning snack, song, music, handwashing, toy play, holiday themed art, and other organized activities. If you should have any future questions, please call or send an e-mail to charles.perkins@dss.virginia.gov. Thank you.

Charlie Perkins,
Licensing Inspector
