Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation, the licensee did not ensure the areas of equipment inside and outside of the center were maintained in a safe and operable condition.
Evidence: On the toddler playground, inside the plastic play house there are two areas where the plastic is cracked and broken. The areas measure between 1 and 3 inches long.
Plan of Correction: The center director/owner will repair the playhouse.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation and staff interviews, the licensee did not ensure that all hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides, and pesticides shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence: In the Bricks 1 room there were two containers of disinfectant spay (green liquid) sitting on the cubby shelf. In the Windows II room in a bottom unlocked cabinet there was a container of hair conditioner. Both items are labeled "keep out of reach of children" and at least one other statement "caution", "warning" "hazardous" and "flammable".
