Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on this date from approximately 9:05 am to 3:00 pm. At the time of entrance, 140 children were in direct care of 27 staff members. Ratios were in compliance. Staff and children were observed during snack time, engaged in group activities like circle time, story reading, and clean up, as well as working in centers doing painting, drawing, tracing letters and numbers, and observing rocks. School age children were observed while recording a movie. The site was clean, organized and contained a varied supply of developmentally appropriate materials. Staff were observed while diapering, bottle feeding, feeding snack, supervising, guiding and redirecting children as needed. A selection of staff and children records, the physical space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, attendance records, required posted documents, medications and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Maria Robles at maria.robles-lopez@dss.virginia.gov.
