Licensing inspector discussed operation times, aftercare hours, aftercare staffing, and children's files with the teachers.
- Comments:
-
An unannounced initial inspection was conducted today from approximately 1:40pm-3pm. There were 16 children in the direct care and supervision of 2 staff. A sample of 5 children?s records, 1 medication, and 2 staff records were reviewed. The children were observed napping, being dismissed, washing hands, eating snack. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. The exit interview was conducted with the teachers. If you have any questions, contact Kimberly.Sawyer@dss.virginia.gov.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-A Description: Based on observation, medication given to a child did not have parental authorization.
Evidence:
Medication given to Child A on 11/14/2019 did not have authorization from a parent.Plan of Correction: Teachers will get permission from parent/ doctor.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-E Description: Based on observation, the medication was not properly labeled.
Evidence:
The medication for Child A was missing the following information on the label:
1. time to be given,
2. dosage amount.Plan of Correction: I will tell the parent to provide the prescription label.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-K Description: Based on observation, the tables were not cleaned after meals.
Evidence:
The table located closet to the entrance of the room had red stains on it.Plan of Correction: We clean them before and after meals.
