Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 01/23/2020 from 9:30 am to 2:15 pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements.The children were observed participating in story time, learning through play in centers, ice painting, and working with hexagons. The lunch menu was posted. Interviews were held with staff throughout the inspection, and the inspector interacted with children in each classroom when appropriate. All classrooms and playgrounds were inspected today, as well as the center's vans and mini buses. The facility was equipped with manipulatives and supplies, and items were available to the children.


Seven children?s records and five employee records were reviewed during this inspection. The center administers emergency medication and medication was reviewed.

The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected.

Today, the following child to staff ratios were observed:
Infant 1 - 8:2
Toddlers - 10:2
Twos -11:2
Threes-16:2
Pre K- 15:2
Preschool Grow: 10:1

A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. There was one violation found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-520-B-11
Description: Based on record review, the center did not ensure to have a written allergy care plan for each child with a diagnosed food allergy, to include instructions from a physician regarding the food to which the child is allergic and steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction.
Evidence:
The record of child #6 (start date 4/29/19): 1. Indicated that the child had a food allergy 2. There was no documentation of an allergy care plan.

Plan of Correction: Allergy action plan will be obtained prior to enrollment going forward. The action plan will be given to the parent today.
