Consultation provided regarding 22 VAC 40-185-70, staff records. Please ensure that verification of age requirement, job title, and name address and telephone number of a person to be notified in an emergency which shall be kept at the center are in the staff records. Written documentation that the individual possess the education and experience required by the job position also needs to be included in all staff records.
Consultation provided regarding 22 VAC 40-185-240, staff training and development. Please ensure that program directors and staff who work directly with children shall complete 16 hours of annual training. Documentation needs to be available during inspections.
An announced monitoring inspection was conducted with the area managers beginning at 9:30 AM and ending at 5:00 PM to review the organizations staff records. Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3 Description: Based on review of documentation and interview with staff, it was determined that the center did not request out of state central registry background checks within 30 days of employment. Evidence: Staff A, start date 10/10/2019, indicated residence in Tennessee within the past five years but the out of state registry was not requested within the designated timeframes. Plan of Correction: The facility provided documentation that the out of state registry was requested during the inspection. Once the out of state central registry report is received it will be placed in the staff record.
