The licensing inspector and administration discussed 22VAC40-191-60-C-2. Central registry findings are required to be requested within seven days of being hired and must be obtained within 30 days of hire. If the facility does not have a central registry finding for a staff within 30 days of employment, the center must deny continued employment until the finding is received.

The inspector conducted an unannounced focused inspection on February 25, 2020 from 8:50 AM to 11:50 AM. This visit focused on the main areas of previous non-compliance. Observations were made, staff interviews were conducted, staff records were reviewed and the center's policies and procedures were reviewed. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A Description: Based on review of two staff records, one record did not contain the required information. Evidence: 1. The licensing inspector observed the record for Staff #2 (hire date 2/3/20) did not contain the documentation of two or more references being obtained prior to employment. 2. Administration reviewed the record for Staff #2 and agreed the references were not documented. Plan of Correction: Administration will obtain at least two references for the staff.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on inspection of the facility, the center did not ensure all hazardous substances were kept in a locked place. Evidence: The licensing inspector observed a container of bleach water in an unlocked lower cabinet in the Greenbirds II classroom. Plan of Correction: Corrected on site
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-320-B Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that each restroom area provided for the children be equipped with toilet paper within reach of children. Evidence: The licensing inspector observed that the restroom in the Greenbirds II classroom was not equipped with toilet paper during the inspection. Plan of Correction: Corrected on site
