The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection on 3/2/2020 from 9:15am to 2:30pm. The children were observed learning through play in centers, playing on the playground, participating in story time, singing, eating lunch and preparing for nap. A formal observation was completed with the Infant and Twos classrooms. The lunch menu was posted. Interviews were held with staff throughout the inspection, and the inspector interacted with children in each classroom when appropriate. All classrooms and playgrounds were inspected today, as well as the centers mini-buses.
Ten children?s records and ten employee records were reviewed during this inspection. Medication is being administered and was reviewed. Eight injury reports were reviewed as well as the center?s injury prevention plan which was updated 1/2020.
The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected.

The violations from the previous inspections were checked for corrections. There were no repeat violations found during today?s inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure hazardous substances such as cleaning materials were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
The preschool classroom (Room #6) had three cleaners located in an unlocked cabinet in the restroom, out of the reach of children in care.Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-290-3 Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure electrical outlets had protective covers that are of a size that cannot be swallowed by children.
Evidence:
There was an uncovered outlet in the pre-school classroom (Room #6), preschool classroom (Room #9) and pre-k classroom (Room #8). All uncovered outlets were located out of the reach of children in care.Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection.
