An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 9:00am-11:30pm. There were 85 children (infants-5yrs.) supervised by 14 direct care staff. The physical plant, 4 staff records, 4 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, doing an art project and circle time. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Evidence:
Children's records do not have documentation of annual parental review of emergency contacts.Plan of Correction: We are going to email out the emergency contact form to have parents complete so we have a new one for each family.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B Description: Based on observation, the diapering surface was not cleaned and sanitized according to licensing standards after a diaper change.
Evidence:
In the Infant room, the diapering surface was sprayed with soap and water to clean, but was not sprayed with a solution of bleach and water and allowed to air dry after a diaper change.Plan of Correction: I will review with all staff again the correct procedures.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-F Description: Based on observation, the posted menu did not reflect what was provided to children.
Evidence:
Cereal was listed as the AM snack for today, biscuits was actually served.Plan of Correction: We will make sure to update the posted menu when we make changes.
