Licensing inspector discussed daily health observation training with director.

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from approximately 9am-10:40am. There were 49 children in the direct care and supervision of 10 staff. A sample of 5 children?s records and 5 staff records were reviewed. The children were observed entering the school, playing with blocks, reading books and coloring. Zero new staff have been hired since the last inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. The exit interview was conducted with the director. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation, equipment of the center were not maintained in an operable condition.
Evidence:
1. A green foam chair located in room 205 was picked apart.
2. The hinge on a cabinet located in room 203 was broken.Plan of Correction: Director said that they will throw away the chair and fix the hinge.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances were not kept in a locked place.
Evidence:
Disinfectant wipes were found in an unlocked cabinet in room 205.Plan of Correction: Director said staff will lock the cabinet.
