This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternative remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on April 17, 2020 and concluded on April 17, 2020. The director/owner was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 19 children and 6 staff. The inspector reviewed 3 children's records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3 Description: Based on a record review and staff interviews, the licensee did not ensure the child day center had obtained a copy of the results of a search of the central registry maintained pursuant to ? 63.2-1515 and any child abuse and neglect registry or equivalent registry maintained by any other state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years for any founded complaint of child abuse or neglect against him.
Evidence: The record for staff #3, date of hire 9-19-2019 did not include an out of state background check for the state where the staff had lived within the last 5 years, outside of Virginia.Plan of Correction: I will submit the out of sate background check today 4/2020. I have also sent a copy of the form being submitted.
