This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
An announced virtual initial licensing inspection was conducted today, May 12, 2020. The inspection was from 9:10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The facility and the outdoor play area were toured virtually on this date. Measurements had been taken previously for 10 classrooms and one additional room. The record for the Program Director was reviewed. Policies and procedures were reviewed for compliance, along with applicable licensing standards. Some items observed, reviewed, and discussed during the visit included: board officer background checks, classroom set-ups, classroom equipment, diapering procedures, sample snack menu, first-aid kit, emergency supplies, napping equipment and linen care, cribs, the playground, and required posted information. Compliance could not be determined for certain standards. No violations of licensing standards were found during this initial inspection.
A recommendation will be made for the issuance of a Conditional Child Day Center license.
