This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on May 12, 2020 and concluded on May 14, 2020. There were four children present with two staff. The inspector emialed the owner a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed two children's records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care Programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on a review of documentation the licensee, did not ensure that there were a minimum of two shelter-in-place practice drills per year.
Evidence: The owner confirmed that there was documentation of one shelter-in-place drill practiced in 2019 on September 12th.Plan of Correction: We will be conducting two shelter-in-place drills this year and one lockdown.
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2 Description: Based on record review, in one of two staff records reviewed, the licensee did not ensure to deny continued employment to a staff member when there was not a central registry finding within 30 days of employment.
Evidence: The owner confirmed that there was no documentation of results of a Central Registry finding for Staff #2 (date of hire 1/14/2020).Plan of Correction: Owner notified the Office of Background Investigations and is waiting for results.
