A renewal inspection was initiated on 5/18/20 and concluded on 5/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 9 children present and 4 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with an applicable standard and the violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The inspection was conducted remotely via Facetime. The violation was discussed with the director prior to closure of the inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-F Description: Based upon review of the posted menu and staf interview, the facility has not ensured that they follow the most recent, age-appropriate nutritional requirements of a recognized authority such as the Child and Adult Care Food Program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Evidence:
1. The menu provided did not clearly indicate that all required food group components are served for snacks and lunches. For example: The morning snack listed for Thursday of this week indicated "applesauce". The Friday morning snack was "pudding". At least 2 food groups must be included in snacks. None of the lunches listed for this week indicated that milk was served with lunch.
2. The program director verified that not all food group components are indicated on the posted menus.Plan of Correction: The facility responded with the following:
The required food groups are being served but are not listed on the menu. In the future we will ensure that all required food groups are served and are clearly indicated on the posted menus.
