Technical Assistance:
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A renewal inspection was initiated on 06/02/2020 and concluded on 06/04/2020. The director/provider or in-charge person was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 41 children present and 13 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-A
Description: Based on a record review the center did not ensure there was an annual fire inspection report.
Evidence:
The last fire inspection, provided by the director, was dated 12/28/18.

Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the director during the exit interview:
There was a change in directors during the annual period and this was an oversight. The director will contact the fire department to see when inspections can be resumed and to schedule one for the center.
