Technical Assistance:
The Licensee's license to operate expires today, 7/20/2020 and a renewal application has not yet been received from the Licensee. Inspector has strongly encouraged the program director to submit an incomplete application as soon as possible as they wait for additional required documentation from their corporate office. At this time, an incomplete application has been submitted.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A renewal inspection was initiated on 7/6/2020 and concluded on 7/20/2020. The Director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 8 children present with 2 staff. The inspector emailed the Director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. There are currently no medications on site.

The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or laws and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-D-5
Description: Based on record review and interview, there is not at least one staff on duty who has obtained within the last three years instruction in performing a daily health observation of children.
Evidence: The staff information sheet submitted by the program director states that there are no staff within the program that have completed the required Daily Health Observation training. The program director has stated that she wasn't aware that anyone needed to complete a Daily Health Training.

Plan of Correction: I will make sure that I get the training done and maybe a few other staff as well.
