Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3 Description: Based on record review and interview, the center failed to obtain a copy of a central registry check from any state the employee has resided in within the past five years for any founded complaint of child abuse or neglect obtained by the end of the 30th day of employment.
Evidence:
1. The results of a central registry check from the State of Indiana are not on file for staff 1.
a. Staff 1 has a hire date of 03/09/2020.
2. Administrative staff provided written documentation that a central registry check had been requested from the State of Indiana on 06/16/2020 which is outside of the 30 day requirement.
a. Administrative staff confirmed that the results of this check had not been received.Plan of Correction: Indiana Background Check office was re-contacted regarding results. Results were received on 8/3/2020. A copy will be provided to Licensing Inspector for verification if needed.
Future background checks will be requested upon employment of staff living outside the state within the past 5 years. Follow-up will to the state, if not received within 30 days.
