Technical Assistance:
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. Social Distancing with children was discssued.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 08/03/20 and concluded on 08/11/20. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 57 children present and 10 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 4 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B
Description: Based on observation the center did not ensureW were playground equipment is provided, resilient surfacing shall comply with minimum safety standards when tested in accordance with the procedures described in the American Society for Testing and Materials standard F1292-99 where playground equipment .
Evidence:
The toddler play structure had turf in place as the resilient surfacing. Pea gravel was mixed into the turf, creating potentially hazardous obstacles in the fall zones.

Plan of Correction: This standard was corrected on Friday August 14, 2020. Daily playground inspections will be conducted to ensure continued compliance.Management will ensure compliance through visual inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-440-E
Description: Based on observation the center did not ensure there was at least 12 inches of space between occupied cots.
Evidence:
In the the toddler room there were 4 children observed during nap on cots that were not at least 12 inches apart. The Director confirmed there was about 6 inches between each occupied cot.

Plan of Correction: This standard was corrected on Monday August 10, 2020. The staff members were retrained on 8/14/2020 on cot placement. Management will ensure compliance through daily inspection
