This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on September 14, 2020 and concluded on September 16, 2020. The owner was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were twenty-four children present and four staff. The inspector emailed the owner a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed two children?s records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care Programs.

Evidence: The record for staff #4 (start date August 21, 2020) did not have documentation of reference checks conducted.Plan of Correction: I will make sure to add the documentation for the letter.
