This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
An inspection was concluded on September 16, 2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were no children present as the enter is awaiting the issuance of a license to begin operation. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. A virtual inspection of classrooms and the playground was also conducted. The Inspector reviewed a sample child's records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1721.1-B-3 Description: Based on record review, the child day center did not obtain a copy of the results of a search of the central registry maintained in a state of residence within the preceding five years.
Evidence:
Adult 1's record did not contain the results of an out of state central registry check for a state that was Adult 1's residence within the preceding five years.Plan of Correction: A request for the background check was promptly made. Satisfactory results were emailed to the licensing inspector on 9/21/2020.
