This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 9/18/2020 and concluded on 9/25/2020. The owner was contacted by email to initiate the inspection. There were 35 children present and six staff. The inspector emailed the owner a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records and three staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3 Description: Based on review of two staff records, it was determined that the provider did not obtain the results of an out-of-state central registry check if they have lived outside of the Commonwealth in the past five years.
Evidence:
The sworn statement or affirmation for staff #2 (date of hire 6/23/20) indicated that the staff member had lived in Pennsylvania in the past five years. There was no Pennsylvania central registry check in the record.Plan of Correction: Provider will send for Pennsylvania central registry check and place results in the record.
