New legislation effective July 1, 2020 reviewed with an emphasis on new out-of-state background check requirements for staff.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 10/01/2020 and concluded on 10/09/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 43 children present and 8 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed 3 children's records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards and one violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care Programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on record review, the center failed to ensure that children's records contain all of the required elements.
Evidence:
1. The enrollment record for child 1 lacked an address for the two designated emergency contacts.Plan of Correction: The parent will be asked to provide an address for both contacts today.
