This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 10/07/2020 and concluded on 10/08/2020. The in-charge person was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 16 children present and 6 staff. The inspector emailed the acting director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A Description: Based on review of two staff files, the facility failed to document all information required for phone references for one staff. Evidence: Two phone references for Staff 1 did not have documentation of the dates of contact. Plan of Correction: When references are obtained over the phone, the dates will be documented.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-190-A Description: Based on review of staff records and staff interview, the facility failed to have a person on staff who is qualified to be the director. Evidence: the center could not provide documentation to support that the staff designated as acting director meets the qualifications of the position of director. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-200-A Description: Based on review of staff records and staff interview, the facility failed to have a qualified director who is regularly on site at least 50% of the center's hours of operation. Evidence: the center could not provide documentation to support that any of the current staff meet qualifications of the position of director. Plan of Correction: Not available online. Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-2 Description: Based on review of two staff files, the facility failed to ensure that all staff submit to fingerprinting and obtain results prior to employment. Evidence: Staff 1 was hired 7/15/2020, but the facility did not receive the fingerprint results until 7/27/2020. Staff 2 was hired 8/17/2020, but the facility did not receive the fingerprints until 8/19/2020. Plan of Correction: Fingerprints must be obtained before the prospective employee can be hired.
