This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was conducted on 10/15/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 38 children present and 6 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Please complete the columns for "Plan of Correction" and "Date to be Corrected" for each violation cited on the violation notice, and then return a signed and dated copy to the licensing office by 4pm on Friday, 10/23/2020. Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3 Description: Based on record review, the center did not submit an out of state child abuse and neglect search request by the 30th day of employment for all staff who have resided outside the state of Virginia within the last 5 years.
Evidence: Staff #2 (Date of Hire: 8/24/2020) has resided in the state of Maryland within the last 5 years and does not have documentation of an out of state child abuse and neglect search request being sent.Plan of Correction: Paperwork has been sent out.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-4 Description: Based on record review, the center did not obtain a sex offender registry check from all states in which staff members have resided within the last 5 years prior to employment.
Evidence: Staff #2 (Date of Hire: 8/24/2020) did not have a sex offender registry check on file for Maryland.Plan of Correction: Registry has been checked and printed.
