This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 11/20/20 and concluded on 11/23/20. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 20 children present and 2 staff present. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 4 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2 Description: Based on a review of three staff records, it was determined that the facility did not deny continued employment of a staff who did not have a search of the central registry finding within 30 days of employment.
Evidence:
1. The record for staff #2 (date of hire 10/1/20) did not contain documentation of a completed search of the central registry finding.
2. Staff #1 (Program Director) reviewed the record for the staff #2, and confirmed that the search of the central registry finding has not been received.Plan of Correction: The facility responded: We are attempting to contact the Office of Background Investigation to check the status of the search of the central registry finding for staff #2 as it was mailed off to be completed. If it has not been received then staff #2 will complete a new search of the central registry. All new employees will complete a search of the central registry within 30 days of employment.
