The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Discussed the requirements for occupied cribs and cots and mats.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. This inspection also included a virtual tour of the center's areas related to the complaint and a review of center documentation.
A complaint inspection was initiated on October 27, 2020 and concluded on November 24, 2020. A complaint was received by the department regarding allegations in the areas of (Physical Plant, Supervision/Staffing and Special Services). The director was contacted by telephone to conduct the investigation. The inspector emailed the director a list of documentation required to complete the investigation.
The evidence gathered during the investigation did not support the allegations of non-compliance with standards or law.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Complaint related: No Description: Based on observation and staff interviews, the licensee failed to ensure that hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides, and pesticides shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence: During a virtual inspection conducted on 11-10-2020, the following substances were observed and confirmed by center director.
In the kitchen, in an unlocked cabinet there were 4 containers of disinfectant/cleaner, 1 container of soap, 1 container of oven cleaner and 1 container of bleach.
A container of hand soap was near the handwashing sink in the school age room and in the toddler room.
All items had the statement "Keep out of reach of children" and at least one of these other statements "warning", "hazardous", "flammable" .Plan of Correction: The Director will make sure that all substances are locked at all times.
