1. Reviewed COVID-19 health and safety guidance, and discussed the extensive additional precautions the facility is implementing.
2. The inspector will provide a current Sworn Disclosure Statement (SDS), as an old version is in use.
3. The inspector will send information about required background checks, as it relates to new laws and obtaining out-of-state checks.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternative remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. An on-site inspection of the facility was not conducted at this time however, a portion of the inspection included a virtual component which allowed the inspector to observe the program and areas of the facility.
A unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on this date. The director was contacted by phone to initiate the inspection. There were 52 children + 20 staff present today. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed 1 child record, 3 staff records, and other required records to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or laws, and violations as documented on the violation notice issued. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observations made, a hazardous substance was not kept in a locked place. Evidence: A spray bottle of bleach/water solution was observed sitting on the top of a paper towel dispenser in a bathroom used by children. Plan of Correction: The cleaning solution was removed during the inspection and stored in a locked location. Moving forward, all cleaning supplies will be kept locked when not in use.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on records reviewed, it was determined that a monthly practice evacuation drill has not been completed. Evidence: There was no drill recorded for October 2020. Plan of Correction: Drills will be practiced monthly and recorded.
