Technical Assistance was offered regarding cleaning and sanitizing procedures; background checks; and risk ratings.
- Comments:

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 12/3/20 and concluded on 12/4/20. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 42 children present and 9 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2 Description: Based on records review, the center did not obtain results of central registry findings for an employee within 30 days of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 1's first day of employment was 9/8/20
2. Staff # 2 stated in an email to the licensing inspector that the Virginia central registry form for Staff # 1 was mailed in September, but the center has not received the results yet.Plan of Correction: New hire packet fixed with correct documents. Staff # 1's documents will be resent on 12/10/20.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-2 Description: Based on records review, the center did not obtain fingerprint based criminal history check results for an employee before the first day of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 1's hire date was 9/8/20.
2. Staff # 1's fingerprint results were dated 12/7/20.Plan of Correction: New hire packet fixed with correct documents.
