This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 12/18/20 and concluded on 12/21/20. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were nine children present and two staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on an interview with the director and a review of documents, the facility failed to conduct emergency drills each month.
Evidence: The facility was closed due to Covid-19 from April-August 2020.
1. There were no emergency escape drills in September or October 2020.Plan of Correction: The director will ensure that emergency drills are conducted each month.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3 Description: Based on an interview with the director and a review of staff files, the facility failed to ensure that all staff have all required background checks.
Evidence:
1. There is no Virginia Central Registry Clearance on file for staff #1. (hired 11/4/20)Plan of Correction: The director will ensure that the central registry form is completed and mailed today.
