This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A complaint inspection was initiated and concluded on 01/05/2021. A complaint was received by the department regarding an allegation in the area of supervision. The director was contacted by telephone to conduct the investigation.
The evidence gathered during the investigation supported the allegation of non-compliance and a violation was issued.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-340-A Complaint related: Yes Description: Based on observation, it was determined that, while staff are supervising children, the facility has not ensured the care and protection of the children.
Evidence:
Pursuant to the Governor?s Executive Order 72 and Order of Public Health Emergency 9, all children ages five and older and all staff are required to wear face coverings at child care programs while indoors and when outdoors and unable to maintain at least six feet of social distance. During the virtual inspection on January 5, 2021 that was initiated at 1:50 PM:
1. Staff 1 was observed without wearing a face covering (mask) while sitting in the toddler classroom where six children were sleeping.
2. The program director stated that staff have not been required to wear a face covering when eating lunch in the classroom.Plan of Correction: The facility responded with the following:
The program director will inform staff that face coverings are required at all times when in a classroom with the children or in the presence of any other staff.
