The licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care Programs.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A renewal inspection was initiated and concluded on January 7, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 47 children present with 12 staff. The Inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children's record and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-130-A Description: Based on review of children's records, the center failed to obtain documentation that each child has received the immunizations required by the State Board of Health before the child can attend the center.
Evidence: Child #1's record does not contain documentation that the child received the immunizations required by the State Board of Health before the child attended the center. The child's first day of attendance was 12/10/2018, immunization record was obtained 12/18/2018.Plan of Correction: Form is in child's file.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-A Description: Based on a review of staff training records, it was determined that three staff have not completed all required components of First Day Orientation Training.
Evidence:
Staff #1, #2 and #3's records did not contain documentation of completed "Recognizing Child Abuse Training".Plan of Correction: I will have them complete the training and have documentation placed in staff records.
