This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A non mandated inspection was initiated on 1/05/2021 and concluded on 1/13/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 15 children present and 4 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 staff's records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2 Description: Based on view of two staff's records, the center failed to ensure that all new staff had a CPS back ground check within the 30 days of hire.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 2 was hired on 10/30/2020 and started work on 11/2/2020. On the day of the inspection the staff did not have a returned CPS check or documentation of contacting OBI after the 30 days of employment.Plan of Correction: The director/owner will make sure that all CPS checks are returned within the 30 days. The returned CPS check will be sent back with corrected information and will be monitored.
